Browser extension for Copilot
Copilot prompt checker
A free browser extension for copilot.microsoft.com: the size and API-equivalent cost of your draft, confidential and personal data flagged and redacted in one click, writing slips fixed, and the model the task deserves. Administrators can deploy it with a policy.
An e-mail address and a phone number, caught and redacted before send.
You write your prompt on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Perplexity exactly as you always do. A small pill sits by the box and keeps quiet.
The drafts are examples with made-up names, addresses and numbers - nothing here is a customer's prompt. Every price is a real quote from POST /api/v1/estimate against the public catalogue; the personal-data scan and Redact run in your browser with the extension's own patterns. Type in the composer to quote a draft of your own.
What Copilot does not show
Where the card appears
Under the Copilot composer on copilot.microsoft.com; the same card the desktop app shows in Word and Outlook.
The model hint compares the task with GPT-5 and the o-series models behind Copilot and with every other model in the OpenSmartRoute catalogue; the recommendation comes from the same decision engine as the router behind the API. Counting, task detection and redaction run on your device.
What it does
The same card on every site it runs on - these are its rows as they appear under the composer.
E-mail addresses, phone, card and account numbers, API keys and tokens are spotted before they leave. Redact swaps them for placeholders in the draft itself; the mapping stays in the page so you can restore the answer.
The card knows whether a draft is a quick rewrite or a step-by-step analysis and compares that with the model the site's picker shows - so you switch to a fast model for the simple task and a thinking model for the hard one.
Filler, duplicated lines and stray whitespace are compacted in the draft when you ask - the card shows the tokens saved and you keep the wording.
One click quotes the same draft against every candidate in the catalogue: the router's pick, the cheapest and the best published quality, each with its estimated cost.
Switch on sharing and the extension reports the shape of each call - site, model, tokens, task - never the text. The Opportunity page in your workspace prices every call as you paid it and as the router would have routed it.
